I'm going to go with a very lean coat of epoxy and not worry. There appears to be no feedback on a true application of PG to Tru-Oil. Thanks everyone! Re: Permagloss attacks Tru-Oil?

I checked my piece of wood with the teak oil finish top coated with PG. it actually came out very nice, gave a hard Finish that was not gummy. I imagine that tru-oil and teak oil are very similar in composition, so I think PG would work to coat over tru-oil.

Thanks, Norman. I have to CCS the rod and do the inscription, then it's decision time. I just remembered that I have an old bamboo rod that I can put some Tru-Oil on , then PG, so will do that. Re: Permagloss attacks Tru-Oil?

I have tested PG over Tru-Oil on an old bamboo spin rod, over the blank and threads and there appears to be no reaction between the two. It looks like PG and Tru-Oil are compatible. Re: Permagloss attacks Tru-Oil?
