A friend asked me to replace a guide on his that the ring has popped out of. How do I figure out the correct size and possible manufacture of the guide I need to replace. the inside diameter without the ring is .274. The guide below it is the same size and the ID is .18. Guide height approx .40. Any other sugestion son how to figure this out?
Thanks Re: guide replacement

Determine the vintage of the rod - the model - all other info and ask the rod's manufacturer.

Guide dimensions are usually given on the web sites of the manufacturers. If you can find something that is close in appearance and the same size ring, it will work.
Since you have the frame, the nominal size of the guide will be very close in millimeters to the inner diameter of the frame. After ring size, try to find one of similar height. Re: guide replacement

Why not replace all the guides?

Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather replace one than many. Re: guide replacement

.274" = 7mm. Like Michael said look on the manufactures sites for pictures and dimensions. The shipping will cost more than the guide so buy a few and maybe some thread and Flexcoat to finish it. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
