I seen that! Can you X-ray veterans, Help me out? Walleye casting rapala HJ10's 3/8oz or 1/4oz jigs and fluke's- at 3/8oz. This is a {shore} night casting technique, The big St. Clair River. Fast-action ML will it throw 3/8 comfortably ?? or Med I know will throw them, But I'm thinking it's to stiff in the mid section costing me fish? 2 1/2 - 3 lb eye's maybe an occasional 4lb, I've never built on one of these X-ray Blanks before. I find the catalog a bit confusing with MB or SJ?? and have read hear there is a difference?? Did a few search's and not much out their pertaining to {Walleye and X-ray blanks.} Your Thoughts would be appreciated. Maybe their not a Good Fit at all? Thanks, Jay Edited 1 time(s). I built an xray MB 733 and it would not be stout enough for the techniques you mention, at least not for me. 3/16 oz and plastic is about as much as I like on it. I do think it has a nice fast but not too fast action for small paddletail swimbaits. I also built an mb736 and sj736 and think those would be too powerful for what you want. Sorry I haven't tried any blanks between those, but it is always a crap shoot with NFC because their numbering system and rating don't always match with what the blank can actually be used for. Oh, I think the MBs are generally a little slower action and lower power than the SJs, at least for blanks that are the same number. If I had to pick an xray for what you want to do I would pick MB724 or MB764 and cross my fingers. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
