My tip is slightly to small. Would it be ok to sand a couple of thousands off the blank. I also thought about getting a numbered bit and ream out the tip. Any thoughts? Re: Tight Tip Top

Do not sand the blank. You can use a small drill bit to hand ream/drill the top tube a bit. You can also scrape any paint or finish off the blank tip if need be. Sanding of the blank itself, however, is not wise unless we are talking about a very large offshore trolling or similar blank. ......................... Re: Tight Tip Top

Get a half size larger tip top. Don't under any circumstances sand the blank down. Re: Tight Tip Top

Michael for the future if you order your components from one vendor you can ask them to check the tip size on the blank before shipping this should insure the correct sizing as all catalog tip sizes are aproximate and often 1/2 off. John Re: Tight Tip Top

I would just order one 1/2 size bigger. It would suck if the tip snapped when under the pressure of a nice fish. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
