5wt guide sizes

New builder question.

I have a NFC 5wt 4 piece 9 foot. I have the correct spacing from NFC but how do I determine the correct size of the guides? I'll use snake guides and I'm thinking 2 stripper guides #10, #12

Thanks

Alter the #10 I put one off each size 3, 2 and 1 then all the other to tip size 1 or 1/0.
With the new Fuji Sic slim (or Torzite) I only use one stripper size #10 (GMLKW10s is my favorite).

12 - 8 and then all all 1's or 1/0's. You don't need a bunch of different sizes.

I have moved from my former gradual taper days to a philosopy of one or two strippers and then down to a line of one sized of running guides. The size of your snake running guides need only be large enough to ensure your knot or loop from fly line to leader can easily pass through without getting caught up. That makes landing fish or setting up your fly line a lot easier. I would say your choice of a 2, 1, or 1/0 would be fine How it looks to you cosmeticaly can be a factor as well. Some like the look to be smaller, others larger.
