Dear Steve: I have a Casio, and believe that this is one of the best rod building tools I own. My hand lettering is awful, and this has solved the problem. You can not only do different fonts, but graphics as well. Only thing bad about them is the cost of the tapes. Good luck, Pat Re: Label Makers

I have a Casio label maker with white letters on clear 9mm tape. The lettering looks good with a choice of several fonts, borders and etc. The problem is...........when you apply finish over the tape the adhesive becomes cloudy. Maby a fixative first would prevent this. I haven't tried that. I would suggest that you experiment first. What experience have others had with a label maker? Re: Label Makers

I tried a Brother P-Touch once. The edges curled up under the epoxy. Never tried it again. That was about 3-4 years ago. Maybe the adhesive is better, or different label makers work better. Make sure you test it before trying on a good blank. -Dan Re: Label Makers

Hi Dan. Several years ago I purchased the Brothers P Touch. A great tool BUT I had the same problem as soon as I applied epoxy. I called the company and they sent me a couple new tapes. Still no good. Recently a fellow RodCrafter purchased a less expensive Brothers machine. The tape had a different designation. He has had all good results so far. I guess I have to call the compant again. Capt Neil Re: Label Makers

Well, it sounds like few besides myself have been so happy with the label maker. I have had absouletly no problems with cloudiness, curling, etc. I still say go for it! Good luck, Pat Re: Label Makers

I have never made my own lables, but what found out was when I did my first one my edges also curled. What I did to prevent this from happening again was to clean the area where the lable was to go with denatured alcahol.and after the lable was attached to the rod I heated it with a hair dryer, then I put a thine coat of color preserver on the lable be for adding epoxy finish. I have done over 100 rod at not 1 lable curled. Good luck Bob Re: Label Makers

Been a while since anyone has posted a "label maker post". I'm sure new products have arrived on the market and I was wondering if any one has tried them for rod applications? Yes, I know... Decal Connection. ;) I just like making things myself. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
