Is there any info on the alps guides layout for a spinning rod? I cannot find anything online. I am excited to build on my new 6'10 Med Rainshadow Immortal blank, and was thinking about doing a guide layout with Alps instead of Fuji. I have done the KR concept layout and followed their resource and everything was perfect. I have a new alps reel seat and wanted to stick with alps guides. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Re: Alps guides and layout

The Batson site, unless it has been changed, has a "recipe" section that covers most of their blanks. Try this link and follow it to see if it has what you want. [batsonenterprises.com] Re: Alps guides and layout

Josh,
Remember that any generic guide spacing chart is just that, generic. While they can afford a good starting point, there is much to be gained in rod performance by employing the 2-line static load testing for the ultimate guide placement/spacing. Mark Talmo FISHING IS NOT AN ESCAPE FROM LIFE BUT RATHER A DEEPER IMMERSION INTO IT!!! BUILDING YOUR OWN SIMPLY ENHANCES THE EXPERIENCE. Re: Alps guides and layout

Mark is correct about "generic guide charts", however, Batson's are not "generic"! They determine them by testing. And while they maybe only used as starting points, most will find them pretty spot on. Re: Alps guides and layout

Josh, I'm curious as to which 6'10" M Immortal blank you got? The IMMS610M, or the IMMS610MXF? I'm kind of hoping you are building a general purpose rod and that you got the IMMS610M. If so, I'd love to hear what you have to say about it as far as its' power is concerned.
If you could even possibly compare it power wise to other similarly rated blanks you may have built on. that would be great too! If it's the 610MXF ..... I already have a version of that blank from the now defunct Eternity2 blanks series. The Eternity2 blank is way under powered for what I was expecting from a blank with its' lure weight and line size ratings. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
