Just finished my first build, a light shining rod. I want to try my hand at a fly rod. I like quality fast action rods but don't want to break the on my first fly build. Probably start with a 5wt for throwing heavy opst lines. Any suggestions? Thanks. Gary. Re: Fly blank

If you build on a "price-point" blank - and you come to like fly fishing - the ]first rod will sit in your closet - a waste of $.
IMO you should build on a quality blank. If it turns out to be not to your liking you can rebuild it, Sounds as though you are a perfect candidate for a CTS fly blank. Quality and performance at a reasonable price. Your email is hidden - contact me fpr details and pricing (discounts). Herb Distributor CTS rod blanks Re: Fly blank

You cannot go wrong with the CTS blanks, if the cost and wait meet your needs. If not, the Batson Eternity 2 is a very good fast action blank as well. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
