I'm just getting back into wrapping rods and i notice i only have one 8wt bass fly rod. I was considering a Revelation through Get Bit (the Eternity is out of my budget) but also found a "Special Buy" on an IM7 for $54. An NFC LMX is in my budget. I was also considering a Rod Geeks 8wt. MHX is probably at the top-end of my budget. CTS appears to be way out of my budget (sadface). Any suggestions? I'm throwing Clousers and poppers. Thanks!

Often some nice blanks on @#$%&.
You will not go wrong with any you mentioned. I also have had good luck with the Xi in house blanks offered by Hook and Hackle, who periodically has nice sales on Batson (Unity, Revlations, Eternity) and PacBay (Arctos) blanks and kits. May also want to consider TFO BVK or Mangrove. Re: 8wt fly blank for bass?

I have bought and built out several anonymous graphite blanks from cut-rate, on-line retailers. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I have been perfectly satisfied with them: they were smooth, fast, powerful, and soulful. What more could you ask for except maybe a fancy label, like the tag on the hat of the old gal on Hee-Haw? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/07/2020 01:04PM by Phil Ewanicki.
