Reverse load test?

Does anyone load test for casting and fighting fish. Only done a few rods and only ever done for fish fighting pressure. Re: Reverse load test?

I wouldn't think a load test would tell you anything about how that rod will cast. Am I wrong about that? Re: Reverse load test?

Just to be clear .... I assumed the load test was for guide placement. My guess is that rods built with casting distance in mind, may not have the best guide placement when it comes to fighting fish, and vice versa. Re: Reverse load test?

That wold be correct if you're talking about maximum distance possible. Such a rod wouldn't have many guides and may be hard pressed to deliver adequate stress distribution under a heavy load.
