I finally got my razor reel seat on Tuesday to go with the rest of the G2 kit (I couldn't quite figure out why you kept marketing these on this forum while you hadn't filled orders from several weeks ago). I've got everything assembled and will be putting the thread finish on tomorrow. Neatly epoxying it all together was a breeze. So far, I'm very impressed with the quality of the components. Everything fits together nicely and the ergonomics of the seat seem to be outstanding. I mounted a reel after the epoxy had cured, and it had a great feel. Obviously, I haven't fished the rod, yet.
I think the G2 is the first complete, modern system that offers more than either foam components or quite a bit of fabrication work. I have a hard time building with top quality components, on a really good blank, and then having to finish off using the same foam material that comes on the cheapest combo sets sold at stores ending in "Mart". I've also made or turned to fit some nice pieces for grips that aren't available with a integrated butt and trim set. This took more time and fussing than building the entire rod. When you buy a high quality grip and seat, it's not unreasonable to expect that matching components be available that are at the same level of quality. I hope that you and the G2 system sets this trend for the industry. Thank you, and I wish you and yours a safe journey through this pandemic. Edited 1 time(s).
