Anyone have experience with 9 foot fly rods in a 6 or 7 piece blank? Rainshadow used to make them and a few have been posted on @#$%&. Was thinkng about one for use on business trips. Are they even worth it? Re: 6 or 7 piece fly rod blanks

Most of been a long time ago because I don't remember them, Dan Craft from Oregon had some in the early days, even he backed off to 5 pc. models as time went on. His 7 pc. IM6 blanks were nothing to write home about. Dan's 5 pc. were superb, as were others done by many companies. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 03/30/2020 01:44AM by Spencer Phipps. I have built and fished the Batson 7 piece. They are fine for what they are intended, a small package for stowing or back packing. Fished a 3wt for Golden Trout in High Sierras, worked great! Re: 6 or 7 piece fly rod blanks

I've built a 6 and 8wt. This seem to cast just fine. One was a blank sold by Cabelas (they sold a complete rod version too) and the other was from Shufly. Neither are available any more. The 8wt was build for motorcycle travel which I don't do any more so it does not see much use. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
