American Tackle AMF909 2pc Fly Blank
Does any one know how far up the blank the " 3K Woven Twill" finish goes up the blank from the butt of the rod? Also does it resemble a carbon fiber grip? Does it look similar? Thanks Re: AT AMF909 2pc Fly

Yes, it looks like a carbon tube rear grip, NOT the newer carbon sleeve over rigid foam grips. It's done with a smooth transition and only visibly noticable, because of the change in material. I haven' t seen the fly blanks, but have used and seen quite a few gear rods built the same way. The original green was my favorite, more striking in contrast, Re: AT AMF909 2pc Fly

Hello Mark,
This is a layer of 3K material on the butt section of this blank. It goes approximately 33-35 inches up from the butt. The weave on the blank is a diagonal 3K weave pattern, gloss. The American Tackle G2 grips have a cross section 3K weave pattern, matte finish. Therefore, although they are both a 3K pattern, there is a difference.
