CCS Question for surf rod

I have a question regarding the proper set-up for CCS measurements on surf rods in the 10'-12' range. I read the archived posts and it appears that we use the total blank length to determine the required deflection distance, and not just the portion of the blank forward of the reel seat, based on the theory that the full blank is at work. I get that. What I am wondering though is that when I set the blank in the fulcrums, do I locate the front fulcrum at the location of the reel seat, or at some other point closer to the butt. If the front fulcrum is not under the reel seat, what is the proper way to locate the front fulcrum on longer blanks? Re: CCS Question for surf rod

Well I see now that I missed the answer to this question in the CCS articles themselves. The front fulcrum should be located at 10% of the total blank length. On a 11'6" blank that is well short of the planned 27"-28" front edge of the reel seat. Re: CCS Question for surf rod

10% yes, which makes the measurements relative regardless of rod length.
