Will I have issues with guides coming off if I use color preserved thread on small guides? Re: Colorfast thread with small/micro guides

Do a locking wrap to make sure the guides stay in place.

If you want to feel secure then do locking wraps, it really doesn't matter. What I have found is to not wrap your thread too tight. The more experience you get from wrapping, the tighter your wraps will be. You want them tight but not so tight the epoxy can't get into the tunnels. Re: Colorfast thread with small/micro guides

I agree with Norman, especially since the locking wrap is so easy. and has no aesthetic down side. I use it for all single foot guides. Re: Colorfast thread with small/micro guides

with a locking wrap you don,t need to be too concerned about filled tunnels..the guide isn,t going to move anyway. Re: Colorfast thread with small/micro guides

I also am a proponent of locking wraps, however lately I find myself wondering would I rather have a guide pull out, or take a chance of the tip breaking if it doesn't. Say on a blank with a 4.5 tip or smaller. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
