Hello folks,
I am working towards building my own rod company. Big dreams and a long way to go, but I have money to spend on mandrels. I am aware of several shops in Japan that will help you design rods and will manufacture mandrels for the intended blank design. I am curious, are there any companies in the US that manufacture mandrels specifically for the fishing industry? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/20/2019 02:11AM by Zane Evans. Not sure but i'll pay handsomely for you to come up with a 10'6" -11 ' surf blank FAST ACTION that weighs in the 6 to 7 ounce range . Can't find anybody that offers that these days .
Good luck in your quest. Re: US Mandrel Manufacturers

If you can get hold of Garry Loomis, he is an expert in the mandrel development process and he may able to steer you in the right direction Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/21/2019 12:55AM by Phil Erickson. Re: US Mandrel Manufacturers

Yeah thanks Barry i already ordered a few from Herb L that fit everything i like but unfortunately the overall weight of the blanks were considerably heavier than what i was used to , my mistake in not picking up on the weight when i ordered . I have tried the S-7 and Vaportrail and both are too moderate for me . The one blank that would fit really well would be the 10'6 " S-8 model in the 1-4 oz range , that weighs in a hair over 7 oz and that would actually work for me . CTS discontinued the S-8 series which i like the best , if only they were able to slightly modify one by using more 57 MSI material although making it less durable i'm an incredibly careful angler that never allows blanks to take an impact do i would greatly welcome that . Herb L said he had CTS switch out 44 MSI material and use 57 MSI material on certain mandrels and it worked out great for him , i would love to be able to do that but who knows . Worst case scenario i end up ordering a 10'6" 1-4 - 2-4 that comes in weighing in the 7 oz range. Re: US Mandrel Manufacturers

I have attempted to find their website; it appears they once owned mandrels.net, but It appears to no longer be in operation.
the only thing I have about Lynco is this website [www.compositesworld.com] Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/20/2019 10:37PM by Zane Evans. Re: US Mandrel Manufacturers

I would be very interested in speaking with anyone who is a mandrel expert; Gerry Loomis, any idea where I could get in contact with him? Re: US Mandrel Manufacturers
