Hi, it's my first post here!
I've got a couple of old lews/Fuji speedfit rod handles. I'm not sure how they work as I don't have the ferrule. I'd like to build them so that the blanks are ferruled into the handles and can be interchanged. Any idea what type of ferrule I should be using? Was thinking of using a metal ferrule(brass?) that is meant for a mid blank joint but pemarnenlty fixing the female portion into the rod handle. Alternatively, if there's a champion featherweight type ferrule/claw type connection that I could affix to the front of the handle that would be ideal. All suggestions welcome! Thanks! Fuji used at least a couple different handle butt ferrules over the years. I wouldn't install metal ferrules. Almost any of the various Fuji type ferrules are still available from a variety of sources, not the least of which are many helpful rod builders themselves. Put a photo of your handle on the photo page and we'll see if we can determine which butt ferrule you need.

I do have a few of the plastic ferrules stashed away some where. As Tom suggests, post a picture and let us know size and type.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I've put up some pictures on the handles photo page of the 2 handles I have.
How do the ferrules actually work? Are the permanently fixed to the butt of the blanks and pushed into the handle and secured by friction? What's the winch fitting on one of the handles meant to do? Lots to learn. Thanks. Re: Lews Fuji speed fit

There were some glue-in ferrules, but others were chucked in the handles, while still others featured an O-ring on the ferrule itself that allowed a straight push-in fit. You have one of each of the latter two. The chuck type ferrule takes what I think was called an "LA" ferrule and the straight opened seat uses what was called the "A" adapter. That's the one that holds an O-ring to secure the fit. It's been a long time since I've used them so my model numbers may possibly be off, but I think they're good.

Hi, it’s been a while but I’m still looking for these ferrules. Both
‘A’ and ‘LA’ types. If anyone here has some for sale please let me know. Thank you! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
