I just ran across a splice in a spool of Madeira Polyneon. Wasn't the end of the world, but was just wondering if this is something I should be watching out for? Is it common for thread manufacturers to splice thread for larger spools? Re: Splice in thread spool

Gudebrod was terrible about this. It's not uncommon, even today.

Thanks for the confirmation, Tom. Again, wasn't the end of the world. Just hadn't been looking out for it before now. Re: Splice in thread spool

Wait until you're tying off a decorative wrap and run into one of those splices. What fun.
