adding 3-6 inches to a 9 ft blank won't change to much as far as how it will work other wise look at salt water blanks that are 10 ft or more The best day to be alive is always tomorrow !! Think out side the box when all else fails !!! Wi. Re: Musky blank

I think you'll find that it's a very limited market when shopping for musky blanks. Nothing exists with those specs so you'll need to get creative. My recommendation is to extend the 8'6" XH RodGeeks blank or extend the big MHX blank (only available on their website). I built a custom 9 1/2 foot XH RodGeeks, I use it for baits bigger than 16 ounces.

Chad,
Extending blank article in the library, with a bunch of other great info. I bet CTS can come up with something you'll like. They're to the left. Re: Musky blank

I use a section of a heavy wall blank. It's easy to do if you follow the instructions in the library article.

there several ways to extend a blank the musky rods I have extended I did a slip in extension of at least 6 inches and did an over wrap where they came together That was for an extension of 8 to 12 inches never had a failure yet you just have to use epoxy and don't forget to scuff the end of the extension so you will get a good solid bond
and Yes I use cut off blank sections not in favor of slip over tube type extensions. that way you add the least amount of weight to the rod. you should ask your self do you really need it to be 9+ here is a link to the library how to extend the author Tom has pretty much covered it. one other thing you might consider is to do a spiral wrap on a rod that long I have done some for my customers and they love it as they have better control of the rod and fish when hooked as the rod doesn't have a tendency to roll from side to side the tournament guys love them wrapped that way.
