I have a request for a 9 ft, 4 piece, 2 wt rod I have looked at a couple 3 wts that might work and at a Sage 8 ft 6 in. Do any of our sponsors have any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Re: fly rod blank

9 ft is long for a 2 wt. Most fishing with a rod that light is done a short distances with dry flies in skinny waters, so not much of a demand for 9ft. Re: fly rod blank

You may have found that Sage offers the Mod 9' 4 piece 2wt blank (290-4 Mod). For about $100 less, CTS might be your best bet. Also, I've found two 9' 3wt 4pc blanks elsewhere (Bushido and MHX), and MHX offers a 9' 2wt as a 2 piece blank. Kind of a special offering in that size.

Sam,
This sounds as though your customer is considering it for a "nymphing" rod. The CTS Affinity-X in a 9'0" 2wt - if that is what he wants - would be a good choice. Although a #2 is a little light. Herb CTS Distributer Re: fly rod blank

CTS would be my blank of choice, but the more important question, what does this customer want use the rod for? Most of the folks buying long 2wt's seem to use them for very light weight Euro Style nymphing.
If he is looking for a light presentation dry fly rod, you might want to steer him towards Fiberglass and something a bit shorter. CTS makes some awesome Quartz S2 Glass in 8-6, from 3 to 5wts. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
