USPS is the least expensive and most hassle free method for me. I always ship in 3" sch.30 pvc, damn near indestructible. Re: shipping rods

A friend of mine and fellow rod builder took a trip to the Olympic Penninsula a few weeks ago. Packed all 3 of his rods in a bazooka tube, and checked them in with Delta Airlines. Unpacked his rods at the hotel and discovered Delta had smashed his bazooka tube, and all his rods were crushed right ahead of the for-grip. PVC might not look cool compared to a bazooka tube, but I'll bet his rods would have arrived without a scratch if they were in the pvc pipe. Re: shipping rods
