I always admire the elegant feather inlays of Willy Ricigliano of Argentina. I recognize the jungle cock eyes, but do not know what the blue feather is. It is quite prominent in his inlays and the most recent edition of Rodmaker contains a photo of one of his inlays with several of these blue feathers.
Can anyone tell me what the blue feather is and a source to order some? Thanks Re: Mystery Feather

Somethings he can pick up from a natural molt of a parrot, or other bird from Argentina may not be available here due to endangered animal treaties. Have you looked at no kill, natural molt feather suppliers here in the US, there is some beautiful blues in ring tail and argus pheasants. You can search your areas from natural molt feather drops around wood duck habitat, etc. Re: Mystery Feather

Could be any nondescript feather, ala pheasant, and dyed blue vice being that color naturally. I didn't notice until you asked your question though that it looks as if he wrapped the edges with peacock herl.
Another thought was that perhaps it is blue chatterer. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/11/2017 06:56PM by Eric Hanson. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
