A search for past threads comes up empty. I would like to know if BH is worth there purchase price? I have a Cabelas CGR 4/5wt 3pc in 7'. Would there be a noticeable difference between rods when casting? I think the BH 5wt is offered in 8' only. Blue Halo is like having a light saber in your hand, is this distracting when in use? Taking a horizontal casting position while wading on slick rocks is distracting. Having to remove ice from the guides is distracting. Realizing that mama bear is eyeing you while the cubs cross down stream is distracting. A fancy colored glass rod is not distracting, though a nearby fishing buddy might think otherwise. I have built a few of them for customers and I have cast several. Personally they have never impressed me, a bit on the heavy side and too soft of a taper to suit my taste in fiberglass. CTS, Steffen Brothers, Livingston Rod Co, Tom Morgan Rodsmiths, McFarland and Epic in my opinion have better blanks and a better feel in the hand.
Quality of the Blue Halo is good, nice paint job, they are straight, and the price is less than the ones listed above. Re: Blue Halo fieberglass fly rod

"light saber in hand"? you mean a bright color? Blue Halo offers the RetroFlex II B 5wt 8' blank in 7 colors, including three that are more muted. Charcoal, cappuccino, and raw.

Blue Halo rod blanks appear, in pictures to allow light to pass through them. I did notice both Charcoal, and Cappuccino were subdued colors compared to other colors. Raw seemed to have good light penetration too. is it safe to say the lack of responses translates to Blue Halo rods not being that popular on rodbuilding.org? A search produces nodda!
