Hi to all you happy wrappers.
I would like to find a fine tip pen for writing on small diameter rods. White, silver and gold would suffice but larger color variety would be a plus. Obviously, the ink or paint cannot be affected by wrap finish. I think Mud Hole’s offerings are too big. What do you guys use? Some prefer a Speedball pen with various colored writing inks.

Or you could have your computer print your text in an exquisitely small font using any style of type or script imaginable. Re: Fine Tip Rod Marker

I use a fine nib dip pen with Dr PH Martins iridescent calligraphy ink. It is permanent and will not bleed when using finish, and will not fade. I use mostly the copper/gold, silver, and black. It can be thinned with alcohol if needed.

As Mr. Kirkman suggested, a speed ball pen and acrylic ink works very well for micro writing on a rod.
I just have to marvel at the ability of my wife - who does all of the scripting on the rods that I build that she can write so perfectly in such a very tiny font with this equipment. But, yes, a speedball quill pen and acrylic ink works very well for this purpose. Take care Re: Fine Tip Rod Marker

Thanks, all!
I think (oh no, here I go again) I will get all of them to see which suits my fancy. But at least I have a starting point now, as I hadn’t a clue what to look for. I've tried all the extra fine tip markers I could find and have not been happy with any of them. They're not fine enough for me. I do some writing on experimental wraps or scrap blanks using a nib pen and speedball or Dr. Martin ink but the tips seem to clog too fast. For "real" rods I want to look nice I use Decal Connection.
