CP Question

I am new to rod building and I am currently building my first rod. Here is my question. I applied CP to my wrap and there were places where I got little bubbles from the CP. I tried to smooth them out the best I could with my brush. After drying there is still a hint of white residue. I don't want this to show in my finish. What is the best way to clean this up?

Someone more experienced step in if I'm wrong, but that should disappear in the finish. I once completely lost the tiger effect behind a milky appearance after applying 2 or 3 coats of CP to an overwrap. But at Tom's suggestion, I applied finish. The effect came back with no hint of the milkiness.
