Has anyone used rubber bands as trims? If so, how does it hold up? Thanks! Re: Orthodontist Rubber Band as Trims?

WHY ? Rubber will deteriorate with exposure to sun and elements, besides they are not attractive! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/07/2016 09:43PM by Phil Erickson. Re: Orthodontist Rubber Band as Trims?

Epoxy won't adhere to them, which opens up additional difficulties down the road.

Thanks! And that's why I asked first before I tried it! Much appreciated as always! Re: Orthodontist Rubber Band as Trims?

I like the idea, they come in different colors and could look cool. Unfortunately it seems they won't work.

Sid,
However, even though the rubber style bands won't work, if you could find fixed size bands made of plastic - I expect that they would work just fine. I have seen commercial rods finished off with all sorts of different types of plastic that do hold up well in the outdoor environment. Be safe Re: Orthodontist Rubber Band as Trims?

I use the super small ones to hold guides for wrapping! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
