I just read about this yesterday. I wonder how long it will be until manufacturers will start producing 9ft-10ft flipping blanks. I wonder if in 10 years how common a 7 and a half foot flipping rod would be, or if any manufacturer would even make them. I can't wait to use a really long flipping rod, an 8'6" cranking stick, and many other options. This new regulation can only expand the fishing rod market and help us as builders. Opens up for new builds, but I do not believe anyone is considering how much the shipping cost for these longer rods, is going to drive the price up of completed rods. Bob McKamey Mud Hole Custom Tackle bobm@mudhole.com Re: Another opportunity for builders

If the bass market would accept them - multi-piece rods could be the answer to shipping and even on-boat storage. Off-set ferrule, with maybe a 3 foot butt and the rest tip.

Yep, and you could offer two different tips. ;) _________________________________________ "Angling is extremely time consuming. As they said in the movie Jaws, we need to get a bigger boat. Re: Another opportunity for builders
