Just got around to reading my latest issue of RodMaker. Tom's article on inlays using metal powder is amazing. Just what I have been looking for. I have used aluminum and brass in the past for inlays, but this is a whole new approach and one I am anxious to try. I am also wondering if you couldn't do the same thing with powdered plastic? Of course how to get powdered plastic is a question. A sanding belt and catching the dust?
But to my real question, where can one purchase the powdered metal Tom used in his article. Thanks Tom for a great idea. Re: Metal Powder Inlays

Almost any mail-order wood working store will have the metal powders.

Just curious, why do woodworkers use metal powders? Re: Metal Powder Inlays

For example I had a refurbish job wooden handle. the groves that were turned in the handle I filled with brass powder and it looks like metal trim rings, don with powder instead of solid rinds, the grip is still in one piece.
