Hi guys,
I saw a megabass rod with the indented, copper nameplate in the butt. Is there any way I'd be able to do that on my customs?? Cheers, Nick Re: Megabass Butt

If you mean in the butt cap, that's usually just a matter of gluing the plate or disc down and then using epoxy or polyester casting resin to fill in a recess.

Trophy shops and many other places can Lazer engrave just about anything. Re: Megabass Butt

I have also done it with small letter stamps used for making jewelry with. I use the same to make pulls on rod socks. Re: Megabass Butt

For those of you wondering, of course I meant butt cap...
Looks a bit like this and they're really impressive up close. [fishinglifestyle.net] I think engraving is the easy part, how do I go about getting the resin/rubber/eva housing around it? Cheers Guys, Nick Re: Megabass Butt

If you're working with a metal housing there is really no need to encapsulate it with anything. However, if you want it in a rubber type butt cap, choose one with a recess and inset the engraved disc in it with epoxy, followed by pouring in a bit of either finish epoxy or regular polyester casting resin.
