Does anyone have a suggestion for a 7'9" extra fast, extra heavy rod? The TFO pitching rod has a lure rating of 1/2-2oz. I would think that the factory build is off a hot shot blank. I have found an 8'6' blank from Cousins that just may fit the bill if I cut the extra length from the butt however it is a 2 piece and that won't do. I do see that American Tackle has their FS78 12-25.
Thanks for the suggestions. Tom Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 07/15/2016 11:04PM by Thomas Kaufmann. Re: match for TFO 797 XH pitching rod

Well,
from what I can tell they used a bounce back blank to create the factory rod. I do know that they built the handle separately on a tube and then assembled similar to a telescopic blank only that they glued it in place so that it would not collapse. I only know this as I was asked to replace the split grip with straight cork as well as the reel seat. Once the seat and grips were off it was quite apparent as to how it was assembles. I understand this is commonplace for manufactures as it allows for easier assembly. I think I have found great replacements from Rogue as well as NFC.
