Handle inlay material

I have seen some beautiful inlays on rod handles in the photo section. Some of the wood inlays were white and thin and really set the handle off as far as appearance. Just wondering what materials are being used for these types of inlays. Thanks

Quality playing cards are sometimes used to get the thin white trim rings. Also, knife and gun making catalogs often carry a host of materials along those lines.

Old credit cards will make a nice thin white spacers, Also some gasket material from a good old fashioned auto parts stores, makes handy spacers. You just have to think outside the box. Tight Lines Jaa

I use thin white plastic material. It cannot be just any plastic as some ( most poly's) will not join using epoxies. Be sure to test adhesion before starting, If you have a Tap Plastics store near you, they are a good source for material and advice.

I use a lot of vulcanized spacer material from Texas Knife Maker Supply. It bonds better than most of the plastic materials [www.texasknife.com] .
