Hello all. Picked up a 6'10" garcia conolon, brown in color. Wooden detachable handle, with Varmac rs-5h reel seat. One roller guide, first guide, and roller tip. Braced chrome guides in between. Does anyone have information on this rod. The label is all but gone and I would like to know more about it. Value, ratings, and capabilities. Also.if anyone knows what the decal should look like along with what color the guide wraps were originally that would be great. I wanna restore this one to factory condition. Thanks for any help. When you take off the wraps the underside thread color should be close to the original. Re: Garcia Conolon Rebuild info

Wes,
Take the rod with you to a store that has similar rods. By comparing the size of the blanks and the bend in the loaded rod, one can get very good information on the blank in question. Be safe Re: Garcia Conolon Rebuild info

If you google it you'll find alot of pictures of different conolons, compare the handle style and other features and you should be able to find what it looked like originally, You might have enough clues to get a pretty good idea of the other info as well. I've been doing alot of restoring old rods lately and it's very helpful Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
