I picked up a coulpe 12" 1 piece pre browning silaflex blanks yesterday that I want to build but my machine is 10' and my space is 11'. Looks like I'll have to make some kind of hand wrapper and build them on the porch. Any ideas on something I can make without breaking the bank since I'll likely only use it twice? Looks like Rube Goldberg time for me. I've seen so many clever ideas on here I know I'm in the right place. Thanks in advance Re: LOOONG blanks

Unless you have something huge you should be able to use your machine just about anywhere. My Custom Power Wrapper from Angler'S Workshop has been all over the place in the last 30 years. Very portable.
Don't see why an Alps/Pacific Bay/Amack wouldn'the do to same. Re: LOOONG blanks

You could do this by hand using a fly tying bobbin. Since you say you will only be doing this once or twice that would be the absolute cheapest solution Re: LOOONG blanks

Ditto Ken's solution. It doesn't take as long as you would think, and if you pack your threads as you should always do the end result will be every bit as good as a wrap made with an electric motor. Re: LOOONG blanks

Surely there is a door in that room. Orient the wrapper and rod blank so the tip can protrude out the door. The bed should slide apart somewhere, allowing you to work out on the tip end of the blank. It shouldn't be hard to keep the two wrapper bed sections aligned. You might have to clamp one to bench or sawhorse, perhaps.

Thanks, unfortunately the machines been bolted to the work surface since 2000 because it would vibrate badly when I mashed the pedal, now after 16 years with all the dripping flexcoat it's going nowhere. I'm thinking a box with notches a book and bare bones old school frustrator. These things are just too cool not to fish, 12 feet of parabolic heaven. Some cork tape a dozen guides a day on the porch with a cool one doesn't sound too bad. Wish me luck Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
