Being new to this hobby, I am constantly amazed at the unbelievable thread work that is out there. All the different patterns are simply amazing.
I have only built 6 rods, and I completed a cross wrap on one of those, with just two colors. It was simple, and turned out good. I was pleased.
What I am wondering, is there some resource for cross wrap patterns with instructions on how to create them.

I think the "bible" (starting point) for many builders was Dale Clemens' book "Custom Rod Thread Art". You can probably find one in your local library or on AMAZON

I second the statement above about Dale Clemmons book. In it day it was the best out there but sort of hard to comprehend. I bet i read it 15 times. Decretive wraps is written in easy to understand terms and there are spacing charts to go along with it. Questions will also be answered by the author.

Mark Crouse has the easiest book to follow. Billy's book is good, just hard to follow Tom Kirkman also has a good book on rod building.
