Why doesn't Matagi paint hood metal?

You would think with modern autobody paint that matagi would be able to paint the reel seat hoods. Anyone know the reason why they don't?

While I cant speak for their reasons i will speculate. The Graphite material of the reel seat uses a different paint process than metal as far as adhesion goes. You simply cannot paint it all at once.
Personal opinion is it will will look terrible if the seat was all one color not like the rod jewelry it looks like with the contrast. I would relate that too a painter that paints over your light switches and outlets when painting a room . Something that personally drives me crazy .

Stainless is a pain to hold paint to, also the tight clearances on areas such as the pill shaped area on top the hood with the Fuji name on it would be doubly tight.
