Unwanted glue

When I examined my fly rod after the curing process was complete, glue had oozed up through the reel seat and was on the locking mechanism thread and the groove part that the reel foot fits in. Using my fingernail I was able to get most of it off the thread but it is still blocking one of the grooves that the reel foot fits into. What would you do to get that out of there? Many thanks. John,
I carefully use an Exacto knife with a new fresh blade in it. Pick out only the glue and not the threads. Be safe Re: Unwanted glue

Heat it with a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the epoxy. This will make it easier to remove.

Get an ALUMINUM crochet needle and sharpen the end to "pop" the glue off. Don't use any tool harder than the aluminum seat

If you are talking about epoxy in the reel seat hoods, your going to have to work very carefully to pick it out with some thing that will fit inside the hood. If this had been caught while the epoxy was fluid it would have been much easier. Re: Unwanted glue
