Practice Tiger Wrap Colors used and inquiry for suggestions

Hey guys, I have seen some awesome tiger wraps but what is missing was the thread colors used. I started making some very small practice wraps. I plan on doing a pink tiger wrap for my wifes surf rod.

The picture is the first base layer with varnish over it. The second is a top layer of black only. It came out like rainbow color?

The base threads are Black Pink and White. I think for the wifes rod I will do a top layer as pink with two sacrificial threads for spacing.

Anyone else want to post a pick and thread color they used I would love to see and learn from them without more trial and errors.

Try the base colors as black and white, with the top color pink, and see how that works.

I saw the guide, too bad the photos are in black and white!

I will try only using the two base colors.

If you use two base colors, how many sacrifical threads should I put on the top layer?

One.

There are a lot of variations that folks have introduced, but the original instructions give tremendous results. Give them a try.

As Randy stated our best results will be black and white under neath in the same size thread, with pink and a sacrificial thread in the same size as the bottom thread on the top. Wrap loosely and burnish well for more effect.
