In Mich when center pinning from a drift boat we use the The Batson Rainshadow IM7 IST1263F or IST1264F both are10'6" much easyer to handle the shorter rods in a boat, They are a true float rod, They can be had at [www.schneidersrods.com] or call Karen at Bingham as I think I remember she has or can get them also.
