hi,
i have two thin coats of ProKote on guides/thread, which is all i really want. they look great, except for just a few really small thin spots on a couple of the guide/threads. can i apply a small amount of epoxy just to cover the thin spots, and leave the rod sit in that postion until it cures, will it flow even into these spots ? anyone ever done this ? thx, Re: spot epoxy touch up on guides ?

Will not look right. Go ahead and add another thin coat to the wraps that need it. It will look much better Re: spot epoxy touch up on guides ?

x10 on Norman's comments. Added coat over the complete thread wrap so that everything blends together.
You can do just one little spot, but if you don't turn the rod, it will likely droop and or leave a bump or depression in the location. Be safe Re: spot epoxy touch up on guides ?

You might be pleasantly surprised with the appearance of a third, thin as possible coat over the entire wrap. Suspect it is the light reflecting through the additional depth of epoxy and the epoxy application boundary layers. Re: spot epoxy touch up on guides ?

If you are putting on very thin coats and still did not get coverage
WET it down on the first coat -- Then let it turn If you think there is too much -- stop the turner - let excess drip and take the drips off with the brush Then turn 180 and see if there are more drips - Take them off - Then turn the dryer on and you should be good to go Don't play with it It will level since it is slow to set up Bill - willierods.com Re: spot epoxy touch up on guides ?

i like the idea of wetting it out good, then removing any access. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
