Cured expoxy still an irritant?

Is cured epoxy, if used to finish rod handles, still a possible irritant? Or is it pretty much inert / non-toxic after curing.
Couldn't find much info on this. It looks like the epoxy used on foam core handles is more 2:1 mix than the 1:1 mix I have in the shop. Does that make a difference? Thanks - Marc Keep it simple - that's all I can handle! Re: Cured expoxy still an irritant?

Most epoxy sold as rod thread finish has a filler added to one part to make the mix ratio one to one. Generally, most structural epoxies are mixed at a different ratio as they do not contain the filler. This is sometimes two to one or three to one, depending on the specific product. Often, the manufacturers, such as West System for example, will sell siphon pump units to fit the epoxy component cans/bottles which automatically regulate the proper ratio with a simple single push on either one.
I don't think that cured epoxy is something you can be sensitized to. ................... Re: Cured expoxy still an irritant?

Cured epoxy should not be an irritant nor toxic. Re: Cured expoxy still an irritant?

Trace amounts of BPA, BADGE, and whatever amine copolymer will remain in any epoxy construction. These are all potential health hazards. No one regulates these chemicals or their use, especially in the rod shop, much, if at all. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
