Has anyone used or considered using the above to fill the gaps between reel seats and blanks or between handle material and blanks? Re: Using Polyurethane resin

Would probable add a lot of weight The arbors are light Even too much rod bond would add weight Bill - willierods.com Re: Using Polyurethane resin

I am just new to building and refurbished an old fly rod - removed the cork and used wood as a replacement. It came off okay, just a bit at the top. It really is not that heavy too - just was curious if anyone else has tried and if there any pit falls to be concerned with - good call on the weight question. Re: Using Polyurethane resin

You don't want to use anything to fill spaces and voids. It only adds weight, not strength. It's just not needed. Get a good bond between seat and arbors and you'll be fine.

I have used urethane resin for casting purposes, but the open working time is very short... Not to mention adding a bunch of weight Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
