Winn grip question

A client of mine wants a spinning rod made with Winn split grips and a 16mm AT Aero comfort grip reel seat. As I see it the standard Winn grips are 1.08 inches in diameter and the AT reel seat will take only a 0.998 inch grip. Seeing that you can't sand down a Winn grip, I was wondering if I moved back to the 0.998 diameter and cut it off would it effect the adhesion of the wrap on the EVA inside? It will be tucked inside the reel seat so I really don't think that it should be an issue.

The Winn grips have been a great selling item, with probably 90% of my builds using them so I would hope they might offer some more options in the near future . The new colors are outstanding !

Mud hole offers rear grips in the Winn covering that fit the 16mm in their MHX theme but my guy wants it in RED. If anyone has successfully done this I would appreciate any information.

See if the customer can be talked into a 17mm version than your set.

I found the grips but could not find the Perfect Fit trim rings. The only place I have seen them is in the AR catalog.

Thanks

Ron the Perfect Fit Hardware is built to match the WINN Grips we have developed for Fuji seats...and it is not here yet. I will announce it as soon as it comes in. I will also be posting some images and information on which parts go with which parts as we ramp up for this important introduction.

I just did exactly as you suggest, cut the grip back at the diameter that fits. Worked perfectly. Just don't make it too tight or the skin will peel off.
