Like building on matrix. Work great for saltwater fly fishing and can't be the price. Good luck, MH

Have built a number of them both 2 & 4 pieces. They perform as well as many higher priced blanks. For the money you cannot do better.

A fly rod that feels "dead" with one line can really come alive with another. Certain fly rods seem to "like" certain lines/weights/tapers, and certain casting styles do also. This phenomenon sells a lot of rods and a lot of lines. Rod and blank shoppers would do themselves a favor by test casting as many rods as possible using as many lines as possible. Joining a fly fishing club makes this possible.

Good point Phil. With that said I have found the matrix rods cast best for me when I match the blank weight with intermediate lines and over line by one weight with floating lines. It's worth trying different combinations. MH

I fished the blank with Teeny lines T-200 thru T-400, 9 wt. Wulff Triangle Taper, Cortland 444 SL and a SA GPX 9 wt. The blank liked them all.
