I had an odd request to build a short fly rod customer ideal length would be 5'. I have never seen anything that short. I think I have seen a 5'5" but can't remember who made it. Another thought is what if I took a 5 ultra light rod and built on it?

there was some discussion on another forum about taking a 5 foot one piece BassPro Micro Lite Glass spinning rod and stripping it and rebuilding it as a 2 wt fly rod. several have done it and talk of good casting . I may be easier to find a 5 ' spinning blank that to strip and rebuild. Re: Short Fly Rod

The Bateson spg 601 will also make a fun to fish short flyrod. It finishes out around a 4 wit. with a relatively slow action Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
