Hello Fellow Rodbuilders

I am searching for a 6'6" to 7'0", 3 or 4 piece spinning blank in medium or medium/heavy power for throwing 5/8oz and 3/4oz stick baits for big smallmouth. So far the only blanks I can find are Batson and MHX! Am I missing out on some other options?

Thanks

Rog

Maybe look at the Phenix Redeye BR3-C-700MH-B (I build BR3-S-720M very good blank).

Also throw in travel blanks from American Tackle Company, not to mention CTS who in general are travel blank oriented.

I have built on batsons travel blanks they make great rods. I've never used the rod geeks travel blanks, but have built quite a few of their other blanks, and was thrilled with quality of their blanks and colors. I plan on building a rod geeks travel blank for my self over winter.

Strongly suggest you go with the MHX. High quality blank. Good warranty, nice selection of lure rating. I have built on most of their travel blanks and my customers have been very happy with them.
Im going on a redfish trip and am building a rod for that trip for myself on the MHX travel.

I would suggest the Rainshadow line up.. there are many reasonds why the Rainshadow blank line is the largest selling line in the country..

Take a look at these..if you have any questions call the Batson TEAM.
You will not be disappointed wih your choice..

Hi, Roger.

I second the remarks about CTS and Phenix. CTS is the master of making multi-piece rods on any or all of their blanks and I myself just ordered one of the new Phenix Redeye blanks. I like the company and have seen and felt their product. It amazes me how few options are available in travel rods for throwing 1/2 oz to 1 oz lures.

Cheers,

Tony
