Putting together the final component list for a personal rod and was pretty set on ordering size 8 tkwsg sic runners through the tip. Running the comparison to torzite I would actually have more knot clearance with minor cost increase using a tkwtg 7 over a tkwsg 8. Problem is that I don't think fuji has a torzite tip over 6 yet. Anything out there? Would need a size 7 or maybe an 8 ring to get max room to pass knots, think tube is a 8. Seems pointless for me to go torzite runners with a SIC tip. Re: Torzite Offerings?

We show the new KG "Arowana Top" in a 7(7). Flanged TORZITE® Ring eliminates ant metal-to-line contact and prevents pop-outs caused by swivels being cranked too hard into the ring on retrieve.

We show a 7(7) in the Catalog for the new KG "Arowana" top. It features a flanged TORZITE® ring that eliminates all line contact with metal and can't be popped out by cranking a swivel up into it. Top of the line. Re: Torzite Offerings?

Jim,
Just slightly off topic... I haven't had an opportunity to work with the Torzite rings on a build yet, and if I recall correctly, the rings have a larger ID than a comparable size in other materials. The nomenclature, in the case of the tip mentioned in this thread, is 7(7). So my question is why wouldn't Fuji tell builders the actual ring ID of their tips and runners? This would be helpful for us builders. We could compare guides and tips in different series and make more informed choices, especially where a particular build requires knot passage through part or all of the guidetrain. I understand the marketing reasons why a company might not want to provide such detailed info on older legacy products as they may not compare well to competitors latest and greatest offering, but with a premier product like Torzite - or SIC for that matter - I wouldn't think it's a problem. In most cases an educated consumer is a company's best customer. Just my $.02 Re: Torzite Offerings?

My topic is closed anyway since Im right where I was before I started it so feel free. My tube size is a 8 so all the new fancy kg top stuff doesn't apply. Do like the new concept but will just have to be more stuff to add to the fuji wish list with my torzite ldbs and larger ldbs. Don't understand why they even offer things like a size 40 kw frame if everything has to end with a 6 for tip offerings. Thanks for the time Jim. If you can, just let the higher powers know that they could of gotten the full torzite rv, kw money outta me this time if I only had a matching tip. Re: Torzite Offerings?

Already have the final SIC set ordered, since I had to break it up in two payments. Have had the rvs for a little while but was going to go Torzite if it panned out with the 7s. At the rate I burn through braid, Im probably going the Alconite route from now on because Im not sure if SIC offers any practical advantage for the extra expense.
