Hey guys so I have a guy wanting me to repair a G. Loomis Bronze Back casting rod. I need to figure out what the brown thread is they wrapped the rod in. If anyone knows that would be a lot of help thanks so much! Re: Thread to match G. Loomis Bronze Back

I've had similar questions in the past regarding their crankbait rods. It was chestnut. I found out by contacting Loomis directly and then posted here what I had found.

Just speaking from experience, if I were Loomis (or any other rod manufacturer) I'd contract a big thread manufacturer to produce custom-dyed thread for me - colors available to no one else. Worth taking Tom's advice, but don't be surprised. Re: Thread to match G. Loomis Bronze Back

Matthew,
I agree with you that if I were as large as Loomis I would love to have custom colors exclusive to my products but keep in mind that it costs money to make custom things like that therefore reducing their bottom line profit. Tom Re: Thread to match G. Loomis Bronze Back

From my experience, I have found that, Sage and Winston both use standard thread colors. They used Gudebrod then, don't know what they are using today. Re: Thread to match G. Loomis Bronze Back
