I have a few requests for some fresh water rods that are durable, can be used for live bait as well as random lures, that are also in a minimum of 2 pieces.
Do you guys have any suggestions of what blanks to look towards? Thanks in advance. Mike Re: Looking for some all purpose blank suggestions.

If you want 3 and 4 piece rods, look at Batson's RX6 travel rods. I have an SB720-4 and the SB781-3. The SB720-4 is an absolutely awesome little blank. You would be surprised at the power in that little rod, making it a nice panfish and light duty bass rod. Even though I've had the SB781-3 for a number of years now, it doesn't get fished very often, but for a general purpose rod, it should serve well for lures and bait slightly heavier than what the SB720-4 will handle. The 3 power rod in that series would likely handle most typical bass presentations and pike fishing with bass sized lures.
If you want 2 piece rods that are a bit more technique specific, the MudHole MHX line has a pretty good selection of 2 piece blanks. Look at the popping series of blanks for live bait and crankbait rods, and the spin jig and mag bass lines for soft plastic lures, spinnerbaits, and other single hook lures. I've built the batsons they are great blanks. The person that I'm building for is rougher on there gear, are there any fiberglass options that I have overlooked. Re: Looking for some all purpose blank suggestions.

Seeker has a bunch of two piece blanks, S-glass to 6-12 line wt., many more in different length and powers in the freshwater and light saltwater sections of their catalog. Anglers Workshop and Mudhole carries them and others I'm sure. Re: Looking for some all purpose blank suggestions.

I've taken a liking to Batson's fiberglass SPG series rods. Being glass, they are noticeably less sensitive then what most people are used to anymore, but for most live bait situations, moving lures, or anything fished under a float, I tend to love them. They can take a beating too. One piece only though, so may not work for you.
I saw a 2 piece fiberglass series in Mudhole's lineup, but haven't held one yet. You might look there. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
