I have an old Carrot Stick blank that I removed the Orange paint from. The result is a flat matte grey blank. It is smooth as I used 6000 wet dry paper (wet) to finish. How and what can I use to get a gloss shine back on this blank? Re: Rod Gloss

Exterior Urethanes are probably going to be your best choice for lightness, toughness, non-yellowing, etc. PermaGloss and Lumaseal are two made for rod building that can swiped on. Do a search of the forum here on blank refinishing and you can get a better idea how to go about it.
