Hey guys so I am looking to build a rod for football jigs and Carolina rig. I have built most of my rods on MHX and Liberty blanks, which both of course are great. I would though like to try out some other brands. I have three blanks I am looking at.
Rainshadow Immortal 7'2 MH Phenix M1 7'2 MH Phenix Ultra 7 MH First of all, how much of a difference is there between M1 and Ultra MBX? Which of these would you say is the most sensitive? Are they all pretty durable? I am not rough on my rods, but at the same time I dont want to build on a blank that I have to be extra careful with. Thanks! Re: Which blank?

POINT BLANK. Yeah, I know...a shameless plug. I just hate to see it left out of all these lists just because it's new and not many people have built on it yet. Re: Which blank?

Thanks for the responses guys.
I actually would love to build on an Eternity2, I have built one rod so far out of that blank and I love it. I just cant get my hands on another one, any idea when they should start being more readily available? Jim I would love to build on a Point Blank unfortunately the price difference is just a bit much for me at the moment. Id love to try that 7'3 MH though! So can someone give me an idea of what the differences between the Phenix M1 and Ultra are? I saw that a 7'2 MH M1 weighs the same as a 7ft MH Ultra, is that right? I was under the impression that Ultra is the step above the M1, so what sets it apart? Re: Which blank?

I was researching building a flipping rod earlier in the year, From what I read about the M1 is that it has a nano tech resin system. That may be a reason for the blank being lighter than the Ultra blank. I read a review of the M1 72 H factory rod from Phenix on Tackle Tour's web site, and the person doing the review said the M1 blank seemed to be slightly less sensitive than Phenix's Recon. This is a link to the review I'm speaking about.
[www.tackletour.com] Tackle Tour also has some reviews of other Phenix factory rods that you can search for. I actually just sent a request for a price quote from one of the sponsors of this site for some components to build the exact kind of rod you're planning on building. One of the items was the Immortal IMMC72MH blank, which is the blank I'll be building on. I chose the Immortal blank based on some of the opnions members of this site have expressed about the Immortal blank, and also on my impressions of the one Rainshadow blank I have built on thus far. The blank I built on was an RX7 crankbait blank. It is an awesome blank. Crisp even for a crankbait blank. Light, beautifully smooth action, and suprisingly sensitive for a crankbait blank. I can only imagine how sensitive the Immortal blank is going to be. Plus, the Immortal blank is titanium chrome color. It's going to make a gorgeous rod. I'll probably be ordering my components next weekend. Re: Which blank?

Hi Cameron, We are working feverishly trying to get more in stock. When ever we get them in, they seem to fly off the shelf!! I would do searches online for "RainShadow Eternity2 review" to find out information. Many websites and forum builders have have reviewed both of these rod models (Rainshadow Eternity2 and Immortal) and they have glowing reviews! Some have even stated it is the best rod blank they have ever held. Just do a quick search and read. If you would like to call into our office to ask any questions, feel free to speak with our staff.
